Because Matt has put me through school (I'm graduating in December!), I told him that it was his decision if he wants me to get a job and put him through graduate school. After many months of Matt going back and forth (and back and forth...), Matt has decided that he will go to graduate school Fall 2008.
This got me thinking-"Then I want to go to grad school!"
The date of this thought, of course, was October 27, which gave me exactly 5 days to apply to the University of Utah, Social Work program. The woman there told usually you should give yourself 4-6 weeks to complete it. Do you think that stopped me? That's right... The process included two essays (thank you Justin, Sarah, and Matt for the help), four reference letters from supervisors and professors, and a very long application with all of my work, school (had to get the transcripts from my 3 colleges), volunteer, and research experience.
But lo and behold, I got it postmarked by the due date, November 1!
I was feeling bad about the procrastination, and quality of the application-but then talked to Justin, and he told me that's what he did with his grad school applications-and he got into Yale!
So there's hope after all.
I find out in March...wish me luck!

Good luck! Not only was Justin applying last minute, he was applying in a community library in downtown Los Angeles. Reserving computer time for 30 minute slots, competing for those slots with 14 year olds who wanted to play video games. While we were supposed to be boarding a ship for a cruise. That was the Yale application, it turns out.
Haha, that's priceless! I was just living up to the Beckham tradition, I guess. (Has he gotten better??)
Now the wait begins. Good luck. How are you guys doing? I have tried calling Matt a few times but he never answers.
I only applied to a few schools because of how long it took to do just one. I am glad that it is over (although I am not sure that I enjoy the job search more).
Steve
Actually, I have to do that, too. Come January, it's full time job hunt for me. yay
