Obama Pajama Party!

So I didn't get any pictures, but last night we hosted an "Obama Pajama Party" (Pajama rhymes with Obama in this usage of the word).

Without getting too political, let's just say it was a very fun and exciting night. We served "pulled pork-barrel sandwiches", had hot cider and pumpkin bread.

On a very different note, my belly is steadily growing, and Matt and I just bought our first official baby purchase-a stroller (and car seat)! However, we are having second thoughts because we are wondering if we should have bought some sort of double stroller since we want to have another baby 2-3 years after this one. Any advice moms and dads out there?

Also, we are deciding where to put our money. Like should we spend a lot of money on the crib, or the rocker, or other things? What's worth it, and what's not? Any advice would be great-thanks!

As of today I'm 21 weeks, and I'm feeling the baby kick like crazy. Matt hasn't felt it yet, but he really tries to, poor guy. Hopefully soon. Also, our next doctor's appointment is Monday and since the mall told us it was a girl, doctor will verify the sex of the baby! I did have a dream the other night it was a boy-so who knows!

My friend Kimmy bought a double stroller because they were planning on the same thing. She loves it and says that it is totally worth it. I am glad everything is going well for you. Hope to see you soon again.

I wish we would have done that but didn't really think about that at all. We now have a double stroller and a little one. They will come in handy when our little boy is here.

I say keep the single--you never know. We bought a double and then looked like idiots when we decided that one kid was perfect. You can always buy the double later; your single stroller will probably be worn out in a couple of years anyway.

I second what Justin said!

Also, a rocker is a great investment. You'll be sitting in that thing so many hours in the middle of the night, so make sure it is very, very comfortable. We bought a cheap-ish one at Walmart and it sucked for nursing. The arms were just not in a good position (they were too close and too high). So find one that you are sure is comfy.

Okay thanks guys! I think we'll hang on to our stroller because I love it so much. Also, I've heard to invest a lot in a rocker, so we'll have to do that. Babies are expensive!

Well, first. I voted for McCain. But with no pajama party, no wonder he didn't win:) Second, the rocker is a must! I use mine all the time. We didn't buy the most expensive one, but having one is critical on those long nights when you and "baby" need a place to relax. It's therapeutic. If you buy a single stroller I recommend the "metro lite" strollers. Otherwise, it's a lot of back breaking work to get that thing in and out of vehicles...or even set up. We spent the extra and I don't regret it a bit! I would say, stick with the single for now. If you're going to wait three years you may have a toddler who wants to run and not be strolled everywhere. You can always invest in one later.
