(I don't mind...he's definitely funnier)
You would think I took on another job or something....but, I actually quit my job, so I have no excuse!!
Updates in our lives: (Not sure if Matt covered this earlier, so sorry if we're redundant):
So, a few months back, I decided to quit my job, and stay at home with Amelia! Once Grandma Lewis had to go back to teaching school, it was just too hard to leave her with someone I didn't know.
I also started grad school! I am getting my Master's in Psychology to eventually be a School Counselor! I am almost done with my first semester, and I forgot the stress of being a student. I am only doing 2 classes at a time, but I am definitely a procrastinator, and I put all the stress on myself last minute.
Matt also quit his job! He of course would like to say he's a full time musician, but along with all of his shows, he is now working for a non-profit organization in Alaska, called Challenge Life. He travels up to the villages on the North Slope, and teaches music and drama workshops to Native children. It's a great gig for him, and he loves it. The bad part is....he has to be gone for 2 weeks at a time, sometimes with no phone! We miss him too much! But when he comes home, he gets to be with his family all he wants, and travel with his band more. This definitely fits Matt's personality more than a 9 to 5 job.
Enough about us........Amelia is growing like CRAZY!
She just had her 9 month check up, and here are the results:
Weight: 18.58 lbs (46.86 %)
Head: 17 in (27.07 %)
Length: 28.25 in (75.37 %)
So she's doing pretty dang good. The doctor said I need to be start feeding her more "adult" food, which I've been avoiding! I just got into the whole babyfood making habit...now she is supposed to eat our food? Ahhhh time goes by way too fast!

Amelia makes us laugh daily, well, make that hourly! Her recent antics are: Standing up on ANYTHING possible...couches, chairs, bathtub, random people. When she's up, she likes to nod her head up and down...and sometimes hits it pretty hard! She is also walking very slightly, while leaning on furniture. Usually if she wants something on the couch. Sitting is now BORING to her, and laying down is absolute TORTURE! She also crawls super fast, but usually only to get to the next thing she can stand up on.
Amelia is also babbling pretty well. She started a few months back saying bababa, and has been saying dadada for about a month. On Thanksgiving she finally said mamama! Even though I know she doesn't connect it to me, it still feels good to hear it.
She LOVES animals: any time Mush or another dog come around, she giggles and smiles like crazy, and goes after them. Then she does this fast breathing sound, because she's so excited.
Amelia has this infectious smile and giggle that crack us up. She's also doing a clicking sound with her tongue that's a little bizzare, but cute.
She loves attention from different people, but she is also getting a little attached to her mom. Sure, the first time it was cute, but I can't hold her every second!

And up until this last week, we would have to rock her all the way to sleep! Not only at night, but for every nap! We tried a couple times to let her cry it out, but it never worked, and just made everything worse.
Well, before Matt was leaving for Alaska I told him that we HAD to get her to go to sleep without us..and it finally worked! It was hell the first couple times, but she was going to bed by herself that night! Ahhh....so much better....
Everything is going pretty well, and we're so excited for Christmas with her! Holidays just seem to be so much more fun with her, and we're loving every minute (ok most minutes) of being parents!
(And I promise I'll post more...it's in writing...now I have to!)
P.S. I posted some more pictures in previous posts, see below

Awesome. It's great to get an update. Amelia is only growing cuter and cuter--I don't know how that is possible. She looks so much like you, Andria!
About linking to an old post: Each post has its own url assigned to it. You can get to it by clicking on the title of any post, and it will take you there. Then copy the url, and use that as the hyperlink just like you would any website.
It helps if you have the blog open in 2 tabs or windows. One with the specific, old post you want to link to, and one where you are creating the new post. That way, you can keep open the tab where you are creating a post, while you also surf around the blog archives looking for old posts. Sorry if that's confusing. I hope it helps.
She is funny and she makes me laugh. I am so glad we have been able to hang out more. Good luck with school. You can do it!
