Sledding!

Of course our first sledding experience was in California, where we had to drive 2 hours to get there! And we were going there to get OUT of the snow....Oh the irony!

All the girls, hanging out

The entire crew!

Wanna hear a funny story??

We were all ready to go home, and I still had not sled (slid?) down the hill yet. This was a very steep, icy hill, that had hoards of people at the bottom, and a small creek. Since no one would take the diaper bag for me, I just decided to put it on the sled with me, and slide down! I started down the hill at a nice slow pace, going on the path I was intending.

All of a sudden, I hit a bump, and my pathway changed to the very bumpy path, which of course sped up my ride. I was so worried about my diaper bag, I didn't realize how fast I was going. I then hit another bump, and it made me go backwards, and I continued down the hill facing the top up the hill, and I was up to Olympic speeds by now.

Now at this time, I was really worried about the creek at the bottom. I knew there were usually people ready to catch kids so they wouldn't land in it, but I had no one! Instead, I veered left, and crashed into a cooler full of someone's food, which went flying. Of course my diaper bag I was carrying also exploded, and every diaper, bottle, spoon, jar of baby food, and toy also went flying everywhere! I heard an eruption of laughter, looked up, and saw a man right above me saying to me, "Hi.........want a sandwich?"

Physically, I was okay, but instead of being able to flee to save any face.....strangers were handing me items that had flown out of my bag, while of course hysterically laughing at my mishap.

Remind me to never sled again....at least in California that is....
